We offer the full-year dance program students in Denmark multiple productions, visual content and experience with performances.

Our students in Denmark also have the opportunity to go on 5 inspirational dance trips. 5 days in Dublin to participate at the Take Flight Dance Camp, 10 days in Los Angeles to take classes at the core of the industry, two trips to London for the Black Box Theater and Move It competition and lastly 5 days in Sweden for a meet n' greet with production company; Benke.

To become a professional working dancer stage experience is key, this is why we have 6 annual performances for our students. On the content side, we offer multiple classes that will be filmed in L.A. style, with groups and solos.

Also throughout the year multiple concept classes and creative videos. The program also gets two photoshoots; one creative full-body shoot at an urban danish location and one photoshoot in the studio for a portfolio headshot.

As an example the group of CDS #7 was a group with multiple individual journeys of figuring out how to deal with life with all the obstacles it could bring. The group was at the same time filled with very strong individuals with a lot of character and personality. We created a story about learning how to dance in the rain, and getting yourself ready to walk into the world accepting its challenges. Riders of the storm , was dedicated to the music of the 60’s and the free spirit way of thinking allows you to be okay with being different.

The graduation show gives all students shine by solo moments, but also pushes them to dance as a part of a group and executing hard technical choreography. Being able to express feelings and communicating the main story by using facial expressions and understanding stage presence.

The production will be featured at a Copenhagen theater or venue specifically picked to fit the productions concept. Choreographers for the graduation through out the year has been Ricky Jinks, Lukas McFarlane, Didde Mie, Rachel Kay, Mark Philip, Kerrie Milne and more.

Video Classes

The way of taking classes has changed a lot throughout the years and our SOME platforms has become our personal resume. The video-classes has become a huge part of the way we take classes. It's important to be able to perform on the spot in front of the camera in a choreography you just learned. Even though this does not cater to the true love of why we take classes and want to evolve as dancers, we need to accept that this is part of the way we make sure people see us and initially book different jobs.

As a part of the program, we offer video classes, which means that you get picked out at the end of a class and dance the choreography you just learned. A part of these classes at CDS is that the videographer will give you feedback on how you perform, what you need to work on, and how you make these situations comfortable for you. Also, the students receive these videos after, to use for personal purposes.

02.

Concept Videos

The concept classes are created for students to understand video productions, as the working dancer. Formations, where to look, when to walk out of frame, how to perform to the lens, and all aspects of the live content performance part of being a professional.

These concept videos are created by the main choreographers and teachers as part of the education. Throughout the week the video is created, with maximum feedback for the students and help to understand how to catch the viewer’s eye. At the end of the week, the video is filmed, and a whole day goes to perfection and makes sure all students look amazing.

03.

Solo Projects

The solo videos are created on location in Copenhagen. The idea is that the student gets to pick song, style, styling, concept, and vision.

The whole project is guided and coached by 2 of the main faculty, so that all choices reflect the dancers' most strong sides, but also pushes them to think outside the box and create a stronger material than they taught possible.

The idea is to take focus on all the freestyle & improve classes the education offers so that the main focus for this project is not choreography. The videos are filmed and edited by Copenhagen Dance Space videographers and students will get each an individual video plus a video with clips of all students together.

As a working dancer, you need to bring headshots for our auditions, when applying for productions and jobs online. Therefore as a part of our programs, you get a professional headshot, that you will receive both digital and printed. The headshot shoot will have a professional makeup artist and pictures are taken by Danish photographer Frederik Kastrupsen.

The full body shot is the first one the students get to take and they are the first step of defining the students as being working dancers. The shoot is always taken at refshaleøen in Copenhagen, the shoot is focused very much on the students' personal style.
